5 - Cornelius Bartlow (1760-1833)
Cornelius was born on the 4th of October, 1760 in Kingswood Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
He was married in 1785 to Jane Schamp.
He died on February 22, 1833 in Moreland Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
Cornelius served in the American Revolution. During the summer of 1778 he enlisted for six months in Captain Johnson's Company of the Hunterdon, New Jersey Militia. They Marched up the Delaware above the Blue Mountains to guard the frontier against the indians.
In 1780 Cornelius enlisted again, as a drummer and a scout for Colonel Beaver's regiment. He saw some action against the British during this time.
